I have recommended this action be taken to certain people. The card seems completely harmless in the legacy format, and is way weaker then just about anything else currently on the banned list. Counterspell isn't exactly blowing up the format, and drain is only marginally better in most situations.

Anyone else have an opinion on this?

Mana Drain is under the new mana burn rules just sick.

No way it will be unbanned in legacy.

I'm in a rush, so forgive my attention to detail here.

I would hate to think of the format that would arise due to the simple fact that cards like Fact or Fiction, Intuition, and Gifts Ungiven are totally legal as well. Having two blue mana open would essentially translate into a Time Walk since your opponent would not be able to cast anything that turn without getting put into a serious disadvantage.

Being able to give control decks the ability to go turn two Drain, turn three Fact or Wrath or Gifts, turn four Fact or Wrath is not fair.

well, i dont think we need more mana-acceleration or blue cards being played.

I dont see wizard boosting combo/lock decks.

I could see a potential turn 2 Time Warp with a first turn Island, Mox Diamond to be able to Mana Drain something turn 1 but what's a turn 2 time warp really worth if you can't do anything else in your turn 2 other than an extra card draw. I would sooner play Brainstorm and have mana open on my turn 2 to play other stuff.
