I need somewhat professional help with spotting fakes since I'm going to make a big/expensive trade in the near future and want to rule out possible fakes, just in case and best for both sides! I have also collection of older cards like P9 white and black bordered ones that needs a check. It would be also fun to check friend's cards because I know people who know something but are unsure about their cards (like this cards feels real but is too dark or so).

Don't want to do anykind Water/Tear/Microwave test Don't like even the bend test which I believe hurting the cards, at least if done wrong.

1) I bought a blacklight/UV (the same thing, right?) torch from Ebay. If I understood correctly, the materials should make difference under UV between real and fakes? Should I look especially some area of the card? Fakes don't "glow"? Never done anything like this. I hope the cheap torch will be powerful enought to do the test.

2) I have done ordinary light test where strong source is put under the card. I didn't see anything weird in those cards I looked. I guess some elements should be seen through but how much? What kind an anomality should I look after? Which is bad sign etc?

I appreciate if u can give simple tips how to proceed and maybe a hint how to test cards as reliable as I can at home. Again, these cards are old and if they are fake, they are made like 10 years ago. I heard fakes nowadays are almost perfect but they still don't pass UV-test? This is just a rumor I heard. Someone here must have experience in this matter

Am I just way too paranoid or is there very well made fakes out there at all? I guess it would be common knowledge at this point if there are dozens of P9 fakes out there.
