Topic: Built a card list cleaner and pricer - Looking for feedback

The basic idea is that you should be able to dump a list of cards in it, and it will clean the list and give you appropriate pricing. Useful for formatting your list and checking on current approximate values. It should be able to handle any formatting, so stress test it!Looking for feedback and if it's useful to anyone else. Thanks! Link

Very nifty little tool. Can i ask where your prices come from? I would love one that does TCGLow/Mid. Any chance you could add a list total at the bottom? I would probably use this daily if those changes could be made!! Or just more info on the prices Awesome!

Nice tool, thanks for sharing! Some thoughts (mostly to help people sort and price their collections/collections they intend to purchase):*Perhaps another column multiplying the quantity by the price for each? *Perhaps a row or cell indicating the listed cards' total value? Also, one question: what is the maximum number of entries in the text box?

Damn this is my dream come true. Possible to have an option to round to the nearest $0.25? Also how does it handle cards with multiple printings?

I love it. Couple suggestions. Judge Foils and FtV foils dont seem to work. Were you the one who had the program that let you put the card names in and it return the pictures of the cards? That would be cool I pasted my legacy deck: It didnt figure out a handful. 1 Bojuka Bog - [Foil] Worldwake 1 Dryad Arbor - [Foil] From the Vault: Realms 1 Forest (248) - Full Art - [Foil] Zendikar 1 Green Sun's Zenith - [Foil] From the Vault: Twenty 1 Karakas - [Foil] Judge Promos 1 Knight of the Reliquary - [Foil] Conflux 1 Maze of Ith - [Foil] From the Vault: Realms 1 Pernicious Deed - [Foil] Judge Promos 1 Plains (232) - Full Art - [Foil] Zendikar 1 Qasali Pridemage - [Foil] FNM Promos 1 Swamp (240) - Full Art - [Foil] Zendikar 1 Sylvan Library - [Foil] Commander's Arsenal 2 Hymn to Tourach - [Foil] From the Vault: Twenty 2 Loxodon Smiter - [Foil] Return to Ravnica 2 Maelstrom Pulse - [Foil] Grand Prix Promos 2 Savannah Revised Edition 2 Scavenging Ooze - [Foil] Media Promos 2 Scrubland Revised Edition 2 Windswept Heath - [Foil] Onslaught 3 Bayou Revised Edition 3 Knight of the Reliquary - [Foil] Modern Masters 3 Liliana of the Veil - [Foil] Innistrad 3 Thoughtseize - [Foil] Theros 3 Verdant Catacombs - [Foil] Zendikar 4 Abrupt Decay - [Foil] Return to Ravnica 4 Dark Confidant - [Foil] Judge Promos 4 Deathrite Shaman - [Foil] Return to Ravnica 4 Marsh Flats - [Foil] Zendikar 4 Swords to Plowshares - [Foil] From the Vault: Twenty 4 Tarmogoyf - [Foil] Modern Masters 4 Wasteland Magic Player Rewards

When its not able to figure out the set, it shows the set as "?". I'm open to other ideas. =)

I took a deck list and put it in for a test:3 Ancient Tomb 2 City of Traitors 2 Island 4 Misty Rainforest 1 Mountain 4 Scalding Tarn 3 Volcanic Island 4 Lotus Petal 4 Brainstorm 2 Flusterstorm 4 Ponder 2 Repeal 2 Daze 1 Intuition 4 Show and Tell 4 Sneak Attack 4 Force of Will 2 Misdirection 4 Griselbrand 4 Emrakul, the Aeons Torn #60 Sideboard: 2 Grafdigger's Cage 3 Red Elemental Blast 1 Shattering Spree 1 Spell Pierce 2 Stifle 2 Blood Moon 1 Wipe Away 1 Mindbreak Trap 2 Through the Breach It properly ignored the lines that weren't cards, but it didn't properly recognize a few cards -- Ponder, Brainstorm, and Blood Moon. Overall it seems like a nice tool.

omg this is awesome. if you continue this to where you can average several sites, or pick a specific one, that would be great. My only suggestion at this stage would be (idk anything about this programming stuff so idk how hard this would be) if it doesn't recognize the card at all, as opposed to what set said card is from, maybe a way to differentiate? say a drop down if it know that card X is a card, just different sets printed that would let you choose? I really like how it works threw a small list up there had most and the few it didn't I had to just put the set in, though it didn't recognize indestructibility even with the set. I hope you keep going, this could become a widely used tool my friend.

The prices do seem quite a bit off on some of those foils. Where are you getting the data from?

Its gives Foil prices for cards that do not have a foil version. Like Argivian Archaeologist [foil] is priced at $22.83 but foils do not really exist.

Debtor's Knell got confused with Debtor's Pulpit, but then I spotted the slight difference in punctuation: It's actually Debtors' Knell, which resolves properly. Maybe stripping punctuation from the input and the lookup will improve usability. I imagine wizards wouldn't print two cards that differ by punctuation only and otherwise have identical strings of characters, but I could be wrong.

All pricing comes from ebay completed listings.

Very nice.Going a step further, this would also work well as a trade evaluation tool. Simply doubling everything on the page or putting it side by side would probably accomplish this.

Small thing. Maybe use the official set codes instead.Example: Thoughtseize LRW => false Thoughtseize lrw => false Thoughtseize LORWYN => true Thoughtseize Lorwyn => true Thoughtseize lw => true LRW being the set code for Lorwyn. Or atleast that's what I gather from : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Magic:_The_Gathering_sets Or at least, some kind of popup/modal guide to the set abbreviations your script is using.

The list below didn't return any prices. I originally thought it was because the line items weren't set specific, but some searches without set specific lines worked (E.G. Tundra). Here is a sample list with no pricing output:hallowed fountain watery grave breeding pool godless shrine jace memory adept Regarding which set the output should return, when there are multiple matches, I would suggest defaulting to the most current printing.
