So we all know that BSG is the superior company, grading stricter than PSA. But I am wondering how much stricter they are. As a rule of thumb I ussually subtract 1 point (so PSA 10 = BSG 9 etc). Is this reasonable? How do you handle this?

I don't put much stock in anything PSA does in general with regard to their grading. I've seen 10s that should be 8s, weird plastic in their packaging, slabs that were poorly constructed, and counterfeit/rebacked cards that were slabbed.Assuming that a PSA 10 --> BGS 9 isn't necessarily a good rule of thumb. You actually need to physically look at the card inside the PSA slab and make your assessment that way the best that you can. I saw a PSA 10 Beta Mana Vault at GenCon this year (that sold) with a huge ding on the card. PSA slabs are also incredibly poor at keeping the card from getting any further wear. Just because the card started as a 10 doesn't mean it is still a 10. The cards move around in their PSA slabs a lot more than Beckett's do.

A little off topic, what does it cost to get say 1-5 cards graded by Beckett?
