Topic: need help with Magic

I have been playing MTG for nearly ten years now but i want to step up my game and start competing in bigger events. if anyone has any deck advice or general game advice i would be great full for the help.

Research what decks are good in the format you want to compete in, and plan accordingly. And practice, practice, practice. The deck is only half the battle; not making playing errors is critical. A good pilot can often win with a less than perfect deck, but a bad pilot will usually lose no matter what.

If there's a pro player in your area, suck up to him like you never did before so that he can teach you the way.

yeah just search on google for top decks and look the trendy decks on recent big tournies. There are really a handful of decks that gets played.

Start going to FNM and playing in local Standard tournaments.

That only works if the players over there are serious and good players. Playing with a bunch of casual newbie type players won't help at all.
