It only feels that way since we got Theros far earlier than normal.

Considering the spoiler is for the the allied temple cycle to be completed this set I'm going to go ahead and speculate that Born of the Gods has the all the allied-color gods.

Theros is the earliest release, but it's only a few days early than normal. However; the release of Born of the Gods (Feb 7) is also the latest release of the second set since Nemesis (Feb 12). So you have two extremes pushing on both sides to make it feel longer than normal.

She is our first UG 'walker, so I want to like her. But I am just not feeling it. That first ability doesn't feel UG at all. The second ability is all about value and is fully UG but there is no synergy there with the other two abilities. The ultimate make fat tokens but they don't have Islandwalk? Seems odd as most Krakens have Islandwalk or something that ties them to Islands.

Like I said, I want to like her but it really feels like they mailed it in on this one.

Yea, that's my only gripe about her. She cost 4 cmc for a starting 2 loyalty pw....never a good thing when your + ability can't even protect you from a Bolt effect.

It's actually 2UG for an Explore on your first turn, and a conditional Explore on your second turn. It's more than likely that she won't live till your next upkeep in a standard 4 man EDH game sitting at 1 loyalty counter. You are looking at paying 2UG for an explore and a healing salve at best. In a ramp deck, I would rather play Skyshroud Claim, Explosive Vegetation, or Oracle of Mul Daya.
