mm1983 | Does anybody live near this store? Evolution Gaming Store 9005 Elk Grove Blvd #1 Elk Grove, CA 95624 I bought a set of commander decks on preorder for $139.99 and they never shipped out on the day that was promised to be shipped out. I have been reading on google reviews about this store as well and it seems that many other people have not received this product along with other products that people have not received from them. It also seems to me that they are not doing anything to refund money to people who have not received their product. As this may be a real store, many people are calling this an online scam. In any regards I see this as simply poor business management and a store like this should not be in business.

SolonJhee | Sorry to bring the bad news but: http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/showthread.php?t=465359 They have been doing this for more then one product release. And people keep on preordering. |

hilikuS | It sounds like they had a supply issue with the Commander product. I purchased one box of Commander from them and received it a week or so ago, but if things aren't being shipped promptly, I suspect it is because they ran out of product. The online outfit seems to be rather new, for their store. I didn't find the site until Gatecrash (although I guess it could have been up before that). At Crash I bought 5 cases from them, and some of them were delayed due to supply issues. I did eventually get 5 cases, and since the price is really good, I ended up working with them for M14 and Born of the Gods as well. M14 was on time. So they are a real store, and do produce things. The dude that I work with is a super nice guy. It is definitely not a scam. Because his prices are so solid, I think he gets overwhelmed with orders at times, especially for something like Commander that everybody and their mom was trying to get.

If it wasnt a scam I would have gotten a refund via him, an email back or at least answer his phone. Filing a formal grievance with WOTC later. |
caboose249 | I'm also dealing with them; I've asked for a refund but haven't heard back in a month. What do I do now? |

You never got the product you paid for? Contact your credit card company and reverse the charges. |
caboose249 | I just went to my Credit Union and filled out the appropriate forms. It seems pretty cut and dry; I have email exchanges and proof that I asked for a refund and they stopped responding. I feel confident about getting a refund. Anything Else I can do? I know they're getting flamed here on MOTL and many other places, but they still have pre-orders up for Born of the Gods and seems to still be in business.

junichi | Looks like they are "borrowing" cash for free to run their store and buy products. __________________ (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻"The enemy has been destroyed, sir. So have the forest, the city, your palace, your dog . . ." —Keldon soldier

Get the owner to call me and apologize? Idk I bet they treat the locals better than internet purchasers. |
BathingApe15 | Hey all, Is anyone still on the hook for any money they paid to this store? I also preordered the commander decks and haven't heard anything from "George" since 11/29. They managed to string me along past the 60-day statute of limitations for filing a chargeback, so there doesn't seem to be a way for me to get a refund through the traditional channel (my bank). Evolution's phone number goes straight to a voicemail box that is full. I'm at a loss of what to do next. Plan of action: 1. Is anyone else in the same boat, and if so do you want to work together to get our money back? 2. Does anyone have any suggestions for what my (our?) best options are at this point? 3. Does anyone know the owner's contact information? I talked to Daniel at Olde World Gaming (a nearby, competing store) and he did a bit of sleuthing for me. It could be: George J. Horch, 40-44 yrs old, 10271 Pedra Do Sol Ct Elk Grove, CA Thanks in advance for any help the MOTL community is able to offer! -Eli |
TheCottonRapster | http://classic.magictraders.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/026203.html I had the same problem, but was able to get a chargeback. Good luck to you! |
BathingApe15 | Thanks TheCottonRapster, may I ask when you filed the chargeback? Had 60 days elapsed since the charge on your card? |
oneofchaos | Today...after 40 days of nothing the merchant is disputing my chargeback. Who was the MOTL member who lives by this place? If so, please go to the store and punch the owner for me. |
BathingApe15 | Hi all. If you are still out money from Evolution Gaming, I recommend filing a police report with the Elk Grove Police Department. Here is the link to file an online report: http://www.elkgrovepd.org/reporting/index.asp ^please also call the police department to tell your story and let them know you have filed a report. The non-emergency number is 916.714.5115. I spoke with several people there and they said that if multiple people file reports and the total $$$ people are claiming mounts, they will launch an investigation. I live in San Francisco, so am not particularly close to Elk Grove. Is there an MOTLer who lives in the Sacramento area and can help us get more intel on this store owner? Thanks so much in advance for any help you are able to offer those of us who have been scammed by this store, Eli |
