lickaneye | Is there a standard of when people typically leave Refs after a trade? I usually respond right away once the transaction is complete. I had two unconfirmed Refs expire on me and was just curious before I reached out to the other parties again. |
Tha Gunslinga | Some people respond, some don't. I usually re-submit the reference and if they still don't respond I give up. |
iccarus | There's no rule saying you have to respond to a ref check. It sucks sometimes when you fill one out for them and they don't take action, but that's just the way it is. I would avoid sending a request more than 2x. You might not like the ref you get if you're too persistent. __________________ Wisconsin - smells like dairy air!I collect Granite Gargoyles. lickaneye | I certainly don't want to be a pest but it is very annoying when people don't respond. Especially when they initiate the request by emailing me not to forget to do it... haha. |
caquaa | sometimes the ref request can go to someone's spam box. I've had them come through and one just randomly get filtered before. A polite email isn't out of order if the first one bounces. If there is no reply from a second request and an email, cut your losses and move on. I've gotten to the point where I don't ask for a ref check unless the other person does. If I don't have enough refs for someone on MOTL to send first to me when I want them to, I'll just go somewhere else. Its not a huge deal. |
Demilio | I've politely asked the person I've traded with for the ref and it was fine.. Must have gone to their spam folder. |
Boston | Upon completion of a few recent trades the other persons' ref check has gone right to my "junk" in my email account. I have since figured this out, and all refs have been accounted for. It's most likely in their junk folder. |
