Whalen Cards | Hello Everyone, recently my uncle passed and in doing so left a very large collection of magic cards and boxes with boosters behind. Most if not all come from before the Fallen Empire set. I am definitely looking to sell them but want to know what is the best way of doing either putting them on this site, getting some of them encased, or looking at another site. If some would like to see some of the cards i would be glad to email pictures or even insert the name of the cards I have 9 booster boxes of homelands untouched 4 booster boxes of Fallen Empires untouched Thought Lance x 4 Blood Moon Helm of Chatzuk Reflecting mirror Deathlace Verduran enchantress sedge troll and many many more Let me know what you would do in my situation Thank you for your time I also found some revised starter desks unopened

mjerding | Honestly, I would do something like eBay then. Let the market work itself out while you sit back and collect some cash. Those unopened revised decks are 👌🏻 |
Whalen Cards | Is there any tips or trick that anyone has that i should take into account when I go to sell, Like where to get pricing for cards and how to let other know that i am not trying to scam them. |

You can see on eBay what to expect for: Homelands Box - About $175 - $200 each Fallen Empires Box - About $150 - $160 each Revised starters, about: $300 each, sometimes more. The others - well, we need to know which set, if they're from Alpha they're worth A LOT more than if they're from... 4th edition. It all depends. |
Whalen Cards | It would seem that i also have a booster box of The Dark Alpha list of what i could find is Chaoslace Helm of Chatzuk Channel roc of kher ridges smoke lifelace kormus bell invisablility mons s goblin raiders uthden troll burrowing goblin ballon bridgade tunnel red elemental blast wall of fire earthbind hill giant firebreathing dwarven warriors gray ogre hurloon minotaur lance red ward conversion black ward healing slave blue ward mesa pegasus pearled unicorn white ward karma benalish hero death ward circle of protection blue guardian angle circle of protection green samite healer green ward circle of protection white Giant Growth disintegrate Shatter That's all i could find currently, that being said the way i judge them o be Alpha is by there color (normally able to find a 4th gen comparable) and the border which was cut a less of a 90 then the new versions. if any one has any idea on prices i would be most grateful. |
A1phaMale | Alpha cards are valued based strictly on condition. Even beat ones are worth something, but the difference between LP to NM to Mint is significant. I'm assuming these cards are black boarded (with rounded corners) and not revised or unlimited or beta? |
Volcanon | If you want to quickly liquidate this collection I would suggest going to a local store or hitting up a large store like Starcity Games. The reason being is that while you could sell this over a longer period for more money individually, eBay is risky (lots of fraud, buyer always favoured when there are allegations) and requires "sweat equity" - as in, you'll have to send cards out individually. You do not necessarily get a good price on cards on eBay as well, because its an auction and everybody who buys there is cheap. If you have zero or very few positive feedback some people won't buy from you too. |
dwiz | I'd put any alpha rares and uncommons on ebay, even if you're feedback is poor. SCG pays out the least of any store, I wouldn't ever consider selling to them. They are just going to resell for double whatever they pay you. |
Vegas10 | If you are going to sell to a large online vendor in general (but not always) CardKingdom usually has good buyouts pricing. |
